Sick of Harry Potter?
08/28/02
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone has had its world premiere in
London.
And now you're counting the days till you can see the film at your local
cinema.
Or are you?
Is it going to be the most exciting film ever - or are you all
"pottered out"? Is he a fad or a phenomenon?
- The films are an OK idea but with all the merchandise it is too tacky. If I
was JK Rowling, I would NOT be happy. It's spoiling the true story and books. Lindsay, 15,
Corby
- I think that Harry Potter is encouraging children to read and that is a good
thing. With the film is coming out more people will want to read the books. Sophie, 12,
Abingdon
- I don't think people should see the film as it will ruin their imagination.
Jack, 13, Cranleigh
- Harry Potter is an over-rated book and I found it boring. Ashley, 14,
Scotland
- How could you ever get tired of Harry Potter?!! The books are absolutely
fabulous, not to mention all the other new things that are being released. Tom, 12 Hyde
- I think it's a fad, but I wouldn't get tired of the actor who plays him.
Hayley, 12, Florida
- I think the film will be great as people who are dyslexic like me, and find
the books hard to read, will get to see what Harry Potter is really like! Lee, 7, Leeds
- I am sooo sick of Harry Potter, whenever I go into shops all I see is Harry
Potter, there are other things going on in the world. Hasn't anyone read a book about a
wizard before? Chloe, 11, Hampshire
- It started off as a book but it has just gone way over the top. Clare, 13,
Durham
- Harry Potter is great. I can't wait for the film to come out. I'm not tired
of it, how could you be? It's just so great! Kim, 12, Bristol
- Too much Harry Potter? Is there such a thing? Harry Potter encourages people
to read! That in itself is a major accomplishment. Whitney, 15, Monroe
- In light of the recent events I think Harry Potter is a brilliant thing to
cheer people up. Paul, 14, Birmingham
- At first I hated Harry Potter and my friends wanted me to read it so I did, I
love it and I can't wait for the movie! Adam, 11, Swindon
- I think Harry Potter is really cool and I have read all the books. How could
anyone get sick of it? I think everyone should read it! Grace, 11, Maidenhead
- I'm sick of seeing Harry Potter this and Harry Potter that would everyone
just give it a break please! Matt, 11, Prenton
- I think it's great that there is so much talk of Harry Potter. With all the
suffering recently it is brilliant that children have something to take their minds off it
for a while and just have fun and talk about something they like. Christina, 14, Inverness
- Harry Potter is the greatest thing since sliced bread! Lizzy, 13, Herts
- I do not mean to be mean but everyone is talking about Harry Potter when
there are things happening all over the world which are ruining people's lives. Catherine,
12, Dagenham
- How could anyone get tired of Harry Potter? I've read the books 11 times each
and I'm still not tired of them! They just keep getting better! Kristina, 14, Bristol
- Harry Potter is going to be the most magical thing that ever happened to the
cinemas and there is nothing to get fed up about. Meryl, 14, Hillsborough
- I like Harry Potter, but everyone is mad about him. It can get too much.
Ellinor, 11, Watlington
- I am tired of Harry Potter, OK go and read the books and see the movie but
buying toys and going to Potter conventions is going over the top. Daniel, 14, London
- I can't see how anybody would be tired of Harry Potter, he is the best thing
ever. Georgia, 13, Bristol
