WB network offers 1st glimpse of new Harry Potter LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - And a little movie trailer shall give the TV network a big boost. Britain's billion-dollar boy wizard Harry Potter rides his broomstick back to the United States in a two-minute promotion for upcoming film, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," airing for the first time this week on the WB television network, the WB said Tuesday. The network will air a two-minute, 17-second "trailer" for the film during the premiere of its new show, "Family Affair," Thursday night at 8 p.m. EDT, marking the first time the full-length clip with scenes from the movie has been shown to audiences. A WB spokesman said Warner Bros, the film and TV studio behind the "Potter" movies and a sister company to the WB, has only released brief, 15-second to 20-second film clips to theaters to promote the movie. Both are owned by AOL Time Warner Inc. The "Chamber of Secrets" trailer will repeat during the WB's Friday line-up again this year after its "Family Affair" debut. Last year, Warner Bros. did much the same thing to promote "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" on the WB's Friday night block of family programming, and won its highest viewership of the season for a Friday night. The "Sorcerer's Stone" movie went on to become one of the year's biggest blockbusters and hauled in over $965 million at global box offices, becoming the No. 2 movie of all-time on box office charts behind 1997's "Titanic." "Chamber of Secrets" will debut in North America and the United Kingdom on Nov. 15. In the new movie, young wizard Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and his friends Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson), now in their second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, try to uncover a dark force that is terrorizing the school.
